Information and Expectations

The Academy understands the importance of setting aspirational targets to ensure that students are challenged to achieve their full potential and encouraged to aim high. GCSE grades are set as targets and assessment carried out regularly during the year to enable robust progress-tracking and appropriate intervention where necessary. We call them minimum expected grades (MEGs). Please see the link below for detailed analysis on how MEGs are set and information regarding half- termly progress reports.

Target Setting and Assessment

As I'm sure many of you are aware the Government has changed the grading structure. Please view the postcard below which details how this will impact students in each year group.

New Grading Postcard

An explanation  for parents of the governments new accountability measure used to determine the amount of progress students make at each secondary school. This measure currently ranks Plympton Academy as a school where students make significantly more progress than students do nationally.
