Science Technician 

Start date: ASAP
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year                  
Salary: NJC Grade D points 8-14

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and adaptable person to provide high quality technical, administrative and maintenance support to the busy Science faculty.
 
Experience of laboratory practice, preferably in a school environment, would be an advantage, although training will be given. The ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines is crucial.  Effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential.  Experience of ICT would be beneficial.

Cover Supervisor 

Start date: ASAP
Hours: 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year                  
Salary: NJC Grade D points 8-14

We require a proactive person to cover classes and support students to help their learning, whilst maintaining our high standards of behaviour.  The ability to engage with students and act as a role model is essential. Good communication and ICT skills are essential.

The main purpose of the job is to deliver preset work in the absence of the teacher normally responsible for teaching a particular class, by utilising pre-prepared exercises and where no cover duties are required, to undertake activities to assist teachers in the delivery of the curriculum.

Teaching Assistant

Hours: 26.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year                  
Salary: NJC Grade C points 5-7

Plympton Academy seeks to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded team, providing help for students with Special Educational Needs in Key Stages 3 and 4 (age 11-16). Previous experience and knowledge of students with Autism would be an advantage, but is not essential. 

Applicants must be fully competent in Literacy and Numeracy (equivalent to grade C/5 at GCSE), and possess a kind and compassionate nature. You must be reliable and able to maintain confidentiality at all times. Experience in first aid would be beneficial, but not essential.  

This role involves working individually with students, delivering small group intervention programmes and managing small groups in the SEN base.

The postholder will be expected, on occasions, to provide support for cover as needed.  Whilst this is an expectation of the role this will be an occasional requirement only and would be needed to cover unplanned cover staff absence only. The occasional nature of the need means that any cover provided will be paid at an enhanced rate of Grade D in line with Academy full time cover supervisor staff.

Academy Administrator (Maternity Cover) 

Start Date: December 2021
Contract Term: Maternity Cover (Likely duration December 2021-July 2022)
Hours:  37.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Times: Monday-Friday 0815-1615 (with a 30 minute unpaid break), term time only.
Salary: Grade C Points 5-7

Plympton Academy is seeking to appoint an Administrator who is enthusiastic, suitably qualified and with the commitment to work supporting our Students & Staff. The successful applicant will need to have experience in previous school administration and be confident in using SIMS management systems, as well as excellent administrative and organisational skills, have an ability to use their own initiative, work under pressure and have good interpersonal and communication skills. Efficient execution of office duties and support in the development of management systems such as filing, emails, telephone calls and minute-taking will also be essential skills. The postholder will act as the key support to ensuring that day to day administration is managed in a time efficient way and the role requires flexibility to support changing needs throughout the year.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEMH) 

Start date: ASAP
Hours: 26.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year                  
Salary: NJC Grade D points 8-14

We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to take a proactive role as a key member of a multidisciplinary team in the support of students, teachers, the curriculum and the Academy.  You will support the professional work of teachers and take responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. You will provide specific planning and delivery of social, emotional, mental health sessions and resourcing for students under the direction of SENCO and teachers.
