Plympton Academy

School Closure

The latest advice on COVID-19

The safety and well-being of our students, staff and our school’s wider communities are our highest priority. We receive, and act on guidance from Public Health England and the Department for Education and this will continue as the situation develops.

With regards to public examinations and coursework completion, we are in regular contact with the exam boards, JCQ who provide common administrative arrangements for examinations thereby reducing bureaucracy for schools and college administration of qualifications, and Ofqual, which is the authority which regulates and accredits British examination boards.  Should there be any change to the summer exam series examinations or non-exam assessments (NEA's), then guidance issued to schools will be updated and we will communicate the advice promptly. In the interim, the Ofqual guidance is schools to ‘continue to prepare for the summer exams as usual’.

In these unprecedented times, Plympton Academy remains fully committed to continuous learning for our students. Our Academy is prepared in the event of closure and students will have access to distance learning resources.  We will be in contact with parents and students, as and when necessary, with further details on how to access learning materials.
