The Big Step

Starting secondary school is a big step. It’s an exciting time, but it can also feel overwhelming. As a parent, you want
your child to feel confident, make new friends, and start Year 7 ready to thrive. But how do you make sure they get
the best start? That’s where The Big Step comes in.

Delivered by teachers, our programme is fully inclusive and designed to meet the needs and abilities of all children.
Whether your child feels confident about starting secondary school, a little nervous, or anywhere in between, our activities
ensure that every child can take part, feel valued, and develop key skills to help them transition smoothly into Year 7.
